Muktinath Tour
Muktinath, a major pilgrimage center located in the Mustang district of Nepal, is known for its natural beauty and religious significance. At an altitude of 3710 meters above sea level, the nearby towns of Kagbeni and Jomsom offer excellent accommodation despite their remote location and challenging topography. The shrine is known as Muktikshetra by Hindus, meaning "place of salvation," and Chumig Gyatsa by Buddhists, meaning "place of 108 waterspouts." Close to Muktinath is the Jwala Mai temple, which contains three eternal flames inside a Gompa. The temple is unique as it is jointly presided over by Hindu and Buddhist priests, and is considered a holy site for both Hindus and Buddhists.
The spiritual experience of performing the rituals of Shradha at the confluence of Kag khola and river Kaligandagi at Kagbeni and then worshiping at the shrine of Lord Muktinath is considered to be both enlightening and fulfilling. Visitors will be amazed to see the idol of Lord Vishnu, flanked by the idols of his consorts, Goddess Laxmi and Goddess Earth, on the right and left respectively.
